Scout Eligibility Criteria

The criteria to attend the 22nd New Zealand Scout Jamboree are listed below and designed to ensure the Scouts are better prepared for their 22nd New Zealand Jamboree experience, emotionally, mentally and physically. Activities are patrol based and at times patrols may be led by their Patrol Leader. Scouts should be able to work effectively in a patrol without Scout Leader supervision. Activities at this Jamboree are set at a level that would suit youth aged between 11 and 15 years old.

For a New Zealand Scout to attend the 22nd New Zealand Jamboree:

  • The Scout must be an invested Scout by the 28th December 2019, * having followed Scouts New Zealand Transition policy. **
  • The Scout has paid the appropriate Jamboree fee by the due date.
  • The Scout must have completed their Bronze Scout Award.
  • The Scout ideally should have camped a minimum 6 nights camping in the Scout section.
  • The Scout must have the approval of their parents or guardians, Patrol Leaders Council, Scout Leader, Group Leader and Jamboree Troop Leader.

For an International Scout to attend the 22nd New Zealand Jamboree:

  • The Scout must be an invested Scout by the 28th December 2019, in their country of origin. *
  • The Scout has paid the appropriate Jamboree fee by the due date.
  • The Scout must be under 15 years of age at 28th December 2019. *
  • The Scout must have the approval of their National Scout Association.
